Material Coordinator

The function of the Material Coordinator is to handle the flow of information to support corporate capital project equipment deliveries.  This coordination requires working/interaction with team members internal to Goodyear Rubber & Tire (GME, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Innerplant, etc), as well as external (Vendor equipment suppliers).

Key Responsibilities - Material Coordinator

  • Create detailed requisitions in SAP to facilitate equipment orders
  • Complete requisition routing/approval forms
  • Track the progress of requisitions by utilizing a record tracking process
  • Document/Verify/Track Requisitions and Purchase Order release dates
  • Maintain shipping data
  • Resolve invoice issues with Accounts Payable, Vendor, Purchasing, Plant and the Engineering department
  • Capture Capitalization/Accruals
  • Cost Reporting – Track payments/capex charged to projects
  • Coordinate flow of information between Vendor, Purchasing, Plant, InnerPlant and Plant Project Team
  • Coordinate equipment delivery order information with Vendors

Required Skills and Knowledge- Material Coordinator

  • 2 years related work experience, preferred but not required
  • Project Management experience, preferred but not required
  • Prior work experience in Expediting, Logistics, or Dispatching
  • Working knowledge of current MS Office Products with an Intermediate skill level in MS Excel
  • SAP experience, a plus
  • Understanding capitalization and experience with Capital projects
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Accruals, preferred but not required

Education and Experience - Material Coordinator

  • HS Diploma or GED, required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferred but not required
