Interim Pharmacist — Forrest City Medical Center

Forrest City Medical Center is seeking an Interim Pharmacist to provide coverage while we search for a permanent hire. This is a great opportunity for a hospital pharmacist looking for flexible, part-time interim work in a smaller acute care setting. We're a 60-bed acute care hospital with an average daily census of 18, serving med/surg, ICU, and women's health patients. Our pharmacy team currently consists of one full-time pharmacist and one technician

What you'll do

In this role, you'll handle order verification, IV compounding, and oversight of our pharmacy technicians. Our technicians take care of Pyxis refills, pulling out-of-date medications, crash cart checks, med area inspections, and unit dose, so you'll be able to focus on clinical and verification responsibilities. You'll work in Medhost for order entry (onsite training provided) and Pyxis ES for automation (no prior experience necessary).

What we're looking for

An active Arkansas pharmacist license is required. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. Plan for 2–3 days of orientation before your first independent shift.

Schedule:

We need coverage 2–3 days per week, beginning as soon as possible and continuing for 2+ months until a permanent pharmacist is hired. Standard hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00a–5:30p, and Friday 8:00a–1:00p. We're flexible on which days you cover and will work out the specific schedule directly with our Director of Pharmacy. No weekend coverage or on-call is required.
