Data Center Tech

The Data Center Tech provides on-site technical support and maintenance for data center infrastructure and IT equipment. This role is responsible for physically handling, installing, and troubleshooting hardware components while collaborating with remote engineering teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data center operations.

Key Responsibilities - Data Center Tech

  •   Perform on-site “hands and feet” support for servers, storage systems, network equipment, and related hardware.
    •  Install, decommission, and replace physical components such as drives, memory, cables, power supplies, and network cards.
    •  Perform racking and stacking of equipment, cable management, and labeling according to standards.
    •  Conduct visual inspections, environmental checks (temperature, humidity, etc.), and report anomalies.
    •  Assist remote teams with troubleshooting and diagnostics — including power cycling, console access, and physical verifications.
    •  Manage inventory, shipping, and receiving of IT hardware and spares.
    •  Ensure adherence to data center policies — access control, EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), and security compliance.
    •  Document all actions and updates in ticketing systems.
    •  Support scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities.
    •  Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams as necessary.

Education and Experience - Data Center Tech

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical certifications or relevant coursework preferred

  • Starting pay: $25/hour
